Filament winding

Filament winding is a wet winding process for the production of high quality composite tubes.
In this process, glass fibers as well as fibers from other materials, are wetted with a matrix covering and subsequently wound on a rotationally symmetrical mandrel in layers. The winding of fiber composite materials is mainly used in the production of cylindrical components, which must have high mechanical strength but a small component mass. The good electrical insulating properties of the fiber composite material expand the application possibilities for highly stressed mechanical components in high voltage technology.

Thanks to KUVAG's almost 40 years of experience, it is possible to satisfy our customers from the choice of materials, vide the dimensioning and design of the pipes for individual and serial production. The wide range of available diameters, from 20 mm to 2,500 mm and usable tube lengths of up to 6,000 mm, offer a wide range of possibilities.
